Welcome Homes is a program of YouHaveThePower.org that provides sober housing, transitional services and pro-social support to those in reentry and recovery with barriers to housing. Each of our homes enlist the community to use a circle of support model to manage and support those citizens returning to the community. This model has been successfully used since 1994 in Canada, United Kingdom and the United States. Circles of Support are based on restorative justice principles. Each circle has a team of 4-6 community members who receive training and support from professionals. The circle meets regularly to facilitate the transitioning members’ practical needs, provide emotional support, challenge the behaviors and attitudes,  and develop constructive and pro-social strategies to address everyday problems.

Healing House is a Christian, long-term, residential recovery program in Minneapolis for women. We are not a licensed treatment facility. Healing House accepts women with children, women in the process of reuniting with their children, pregnant women, and women without children. Women must be at least 18-years-old, and children must be age ten and under.  We serve those looking to gain freedom from life-controlling issues, primarily substance abuse.

 

We believe that Christ is the only way to gain true freedom and healing, therefore, we use a faith-based approach in dealing with addiction and other life-controlling issues. We provide healing and recovery programming that is grounded in Biblical principles. We are a multi-denominational organization. Healing House is funded through GRH (Group Residential Housing) and private donations.

The Minneapolis location offers 39 residential apartments and an on-site child development center in the heart of Minneapolis near Minneapolis Community Technical College. The St Paul Community Campus offers 38 residential apartments and an on-site child development center in the Rondo/Summit-University neighborhood, with easy access to several post-secondary schools nearby. Programs are also available in Rochester.

Supportive Housing – RS EDEN plays an active role in the development and operation of affordable, safe, and supportive housing throughout the Twin Cities. Our programs offer recovery-focused, transformative opportunities for residents to achieve personal goals, increase skills and income, integrate with the community, and stabilize housing. What makes our programs unique is a strong collaborative approach between services and housing management staff, a commitment to vocational and employment supports, and engaging innovative partnerships with community agencies. We currently oversee nine supportive housing developments that serve youth, single adults, and families.

Family Housing – RS EDEN takes an active, visionary role in developing and operating affordable housing for homeless individuals and families, many who are recovering from substance abuse. RS EDEN’s sober supportive housing includes on-site services to assure tenants have the resources and support necessary to sustain their housing.

Journey Home is a residential facility providing primary chemical dependency programming and housing for chemically dependent women and their children. It is a structured, recovery-focused setting for women 16 and older who are referred to us after the completion of primary chemical dependency treatment. The staff at Journey Home provide individual and group counseling in addition to 24-hour supervision of clients. Clients are encouraged to work with each other to create a sober, supportive environment for themselves and their children.

Women attend structured programs covering such topics as parenting skills, spirituality, relapse prevention, relationships, self-esteem and mental illness/chemical dependency education. Employment, money management and housing are also included in each client’s assessment treatment plan. In addition to these programs, Journey Home is also sensitive to the multicultural needs of women and children who reside with us. Ethnic specific parenting support and resources are currently available for Native Americans and African Americans and are added as the need arises.

Our organization, Help for Felons, has come up with some really good ways to find felon friendly apartments and housing. Many websites claim to list housing for felons but we have found that many of those postings and sites are either wildly inaccurate or simply spam in order to make money from advertising.

What we have done instead is to provide you with the tools and knowledge that you need to actually find felon friendly apartments and housing with relative ease. If you use the tips and information listed on the website you should definitely be able to find a suitable housing to fit your needs if you keep your eyes open.

Mary’s Place offers transitional apartments for homeless families with children. This building was named after and dedicated to the Blessed Mother Mary. This beautiful complex was born out of love, compassion, and concern for women and children in poverty.
